◆アーヴィング･ミルズ（1894-1985）は、NY生まれの歌手、作詞家、経営者(音楽出版社) で、1926年から1939年まで、デューク･エリントンのマネジメントを行った人物。
◆今作は彼のリーダーバンド“Irving Mills and his Hotsy Totsy Gang”の、1929年～1930年のレコーディングをまとめたコンピレーション（ミルズ自身はほとんど参加していない）。ジミー･ドーシーやベニー･グッドマン、ビックス･バイダーベックなど、当時のスターが名を連ねる。
◆1928年～1929年のレコーディングをまとめた『The First 24 Sides』(RTR 79082)も発売中。
